[Authors notes:  On-One Bikes staff member Ross takes the more fun option to get to work...on the worlds first production 24" fat bike] Smaller rim diameter than the conventional 26 inch wheel Fatbike or mountain bike, but perhaps it is also more manageable for trail riding control and more of a daily appeal to the ride? Follow the trails to another quality adventure cycle option. 

Let's compare 26 inch touring tires with Fat Bike tires...

Wheel diameters and tire dimensions keep changing in the global market, Fat bikes use conventional 26 inch wheel diameter on larger rim widths for smoother rolling resistance without any necessary suspension.Compared to cycle touring on Schwalbe Marathon Plus Tour 26 inch by 2.0 inch width (Marathon XR) 1100 gram Kevlar tires (thunder and a hammer of a beating on the body for endurance riding offroad plus 2000 kilometers), the Fat Tire ride comfort difference would be considerable - although you can carry 145 kilograms of rider + bike + equipment and not worry about having punctures while doing the Schwalbe option above.

With bikepacking setups, riders cut the equipment weight losing frame-mounted carrier racks and using strapped packs referred to Bikepacking.So adventure travel with Fat Bikes is an option, although there is additional weight factored into the frame and rim materials, tire dimensions and design (Fat bike tire replacements are expensive too). It's worth looking into for your adventure. Which setup works best for you depends on price, quality of components, your budget and destinations!

The Scott Gambler 710 (in burnt orange/black colors) a Shimano-equipped DH machine with 27.5 inch wheels and boxer-framed floating suspension, the FOX RC4 Coil Kashmira rear suspension unit.  This 6061 aluminum hydroformed frame is custom-butted. The BB height is adjustable and the headset angle are also custom adjusted for rider preferences. A World Cup clone, setup with Syncros Handlebar components and features larger diameter 27.5 inch DT Swiss wheels with their Competition level steel spokes. Though lying within the Arctic Circle, the archipelago experiences one of the world's largest elevated temperatures relative to it's high latitude. [Authors notes] #TheRidge is the brand new film from Danny Macaskill… For the first time in one of his films Danny climbs aboard a mountain bike and returns to his native home of the Isle of Skye in Scotland to take on a death-defying ride along the notorious Cuillin Ridgeline.

Isle of Skye (/skaɪ/; Scottish Gaelic: An t-Eilean Sgitheanach or Eilean a' Cheò) is the largest and most northerly large island in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland.[Note 1] The island's peninsulas radiate from a mountainous center dominated by the Cuillins, the rocky slopes of which provide some of the most dramatic mountain scenery in the country.

The Black Cuillin, which are mainly composed of basalt and gabbro, include twelve Munros and provide some of the most dramatic and challenging mountain terrain in Scotland.

 In late fall, we traveled to the high elevations of the San Juan mountains to explore the vast range and to test out our prototype suspension platform. Our trip took us to the southwest part of Colorado because the San Juan's contain some of the most rugged terrain in Colorado and offer a loose network of trails — some fully developed, others just old mining paths filtering down the mountainside.

Fall in the Rockies is always epic, but the weather is variable. We encountered freezing temps and snow, but were rewarded with fresh loam and peak colors. In the end, after the trails were explored, weather was endured, flat tires were fixed, and a few beers were drunk, we found out what works and what doesn’t. [Authors notes] A fine line defines the edge between ridable and non-ridable. The Line is also the 2nd film in Hannes Mair's trilogy accompanying the Innsbruck Vertriders on their alpine mountain biking project. This time they cross over the border into South Tyrol. On the northern edge of the Dolomites, they find a mountain with two disparate faces. The trail from the summit leads straight along the edge of a canyon. Have we now found what we were looking for? Any doubts left? And how far can a "responsible" fall actually be?

[Author notes] Watch as Danny MacAskill brings a forgotten city back to life with his latest street trials film. Following on from 2013's mind-blowing 'MacAskill's Imaginate'
Epecuén is the latest film from Danny MacAskill. 

Directed by long time collaborator Dave Sowerby, we'll see Danny take his riding back to the roots of trials riding, exploring the forgotten town of Epecuén in Argentina, a location that has been submerged for the majority of the past 25 years.

Pablo Novac, Epecuén's only resident throughout the troubled times, gives a brief history of the location culminating with his thoughts that he '...can no longer see what use this place has for us now,' MacAskill however has other ideas.

[Wiki notes] Villa Epecuén was a tourist village that was located in the Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. Now abandoned, its ruins are found on the eastern shore of the Laguna Epecuén, about 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) north of the city of Carhué.

Developed in the early 1920s, Epecuén was accessible from Buenos Aires by train. The Ferrocarril Sarmiento line served the Villa Epecuén station, while the Midland Railway and the Southern Railway carried passengers to nearby Carhué station.[2]

Tourism was well developed in Epecuén, as vacationers from Buenos Aires would seek the therapeutic salty waters of Lago Epecuén. At its height, Villa Epecuén had the capacity to accommodate 5,000 visitors,[3] while unofficial accommodations allowed for 2000 more.[citation needed]

On 10 November 1985, a seiche caused by a rare weather pattern broke a nearby dam first, then the dike protecting the town. Rapidly made uninhabitable, the town saw the waters rise progressively, reaching up to 10 metres (33 ft) at its maximum. The village was never rebuilt.

At the time of the catastrophe, there were up to 280 businesses in Epecuén, including lodges, guesthouses, hotels, and businesses that 25,000 tourists visited between November and March, from the 1950s to the 1970s.

The town reached a population of 1,500 inhabitants at its peak. The town now has a sole resident, Pablo Novak, who returned to his home when the waters receded after covering the town for 25 years.[1]

Pablo's Villa, a 2013 documentary, chronicles the life of the town and of Pablo Novak.[4][5]

The town was used as the setting for an advertisement featuring the street trials cyclist Danny MacAskill released by Red Bull Media House on 27 May 2014.[6] [End Wiki notes]
